My African Queen quilt

This 80" x 86" African Queen, or International Sisterhood, quilt was created and hand-quilted with love to acknowledge, honor and celebrate the beauty and uniqueness of our African Queens and Sisters of Nova Scotia.
 
Each quilted queen is bold, strong and vibrant as demonstrated by the bright colorful fabrics. Each representing the diversity and magnificence of our African Queens and Sisters.
 
In Nova Scotia, the 2021 African Heritage Month theme is Black History Matters: Listen, Learn, Share and Act. The theme brings focus and increased awareness of racialized issues of a community that has overcome great adversity for inclusion.
